How to build and strengthen emotional health: resources and tips

Emotional health can be defined as a person’s ability to accept, adapt to, and manage feelings through life’s challenges and changes. Our daily lives are made up of highs and lows. Having good emotional health means processing emotions well, being mindful of one’s emotional response to situations, and maintaining a balance of appropriate responses. It is a skillset that can be developed to successfully navigate a range of emotions, helping prevent or decrease stress, anxiety, and depression.

Sturdy emotional health can be a tool in your toolbox, assisting you in managing adversities like a terminal illness diagnosis or the passing of a loved one. There are a number of characteristics that you can develop to help you become emotionally healthy, some of which include self-awareness, self-care, coping skills, and more.
