How to close a Pinterest account after a loved one passes

Here are steps to deactivate the account:

1. Use this link: https://help.pinterest.com/en/contact

2. Go to “Account issues and closure”

3. Click “Deactivate or close account”

4. They will ask you for your information and the account information of the deceased

Note: Pinterest will not provide personal or login information under any circumstances. However, despite this being a violation of the terms and conditions, some people recommend that you reset the password for the account and use the new credentials to log in. This could work if you already have access to the account’s email address. We are not endorsing this choice, but if recommended by your lawyer, here is the process:

• Go to pinterest.com/password/reset to request a password reset

• Enter the email, name, or username, then click Search to find the account

• Select the account

• Check the email address connected to the account for a password reset email

• Click the link in the email and enter a new password
