How to close a Yahoo account after a loved one passes
You can leave the account as is, or if you want to delete it, here are the steps:
1) If you have access to the account login information, you can delete it once you are logged in
2) If not, you need to send a letter to Yahoo
Gather the following information
The letter containing your request and stating the Yahoo ID of the deceased
A copy of a document appointing the requesting party as the personal representative or executor of the estate of the deceased
A copy of the death certificate of the Yahoo account holder

Note: Yahoo will not provide passwords or allow access to the deceased's account, including account content such as email, based on their Terms and Conditions.
However, despite this being a violation of the terms and conditions, some people recommend that you can reset the password for the account and use this to log in.
